Some helpful tips on how to avoid ear infections in infants

Ear infections can be very challenging for young babies, but be encouraged; there are many ways to prevent this infection. An ear infection is usually caused by bacteria from common colds. The infant may get a cold, and this leads to mucus accumulation and bacteria in the nose and throat. This mucus eventually gathers in the middle ear and collects as pus. At this point, the baby’s ear is infected and some of the symptoms are fever, a lot of discomfort and restlessness, lack of appetite and waking up at night. Another important symptom is the draining of pus from the ear. If your baby shows these symptoms, then you will need to consult an ear specialist.
